If you're in need of shelter, please start by contacting Dayspring Women's Center at 219-510-5432. A day center for women who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, they are open Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 2:00 pm, at 1005 N. Campbell St. They should be your first stop! They handle intake for the women's shelter during our winter season and can help find other resources during the six months of summer that Open Arms is not open.
These were the seven host locations during our 2013-2014 winter season (Oct. 15 to Apr. 15). Check-in is from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and check-out is at 7:00 am.

MONDAY - Faith Memorial Lutheran Church, 753 N. Calumet Ave. (past 49'er Drive In, before Route 6, go to back door across from play area)
TUESDAY - St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 505 Bullseye Lake Rd. (NW corner of Bullseye Lake & Valparaiso St.)
WEDNESDAY - Faith Church, 1155 Sturdy Rd (across from Graceland Cemetery, use double doors in back)
THURSDAY - Union Community Church, 602 Monroe St. (corner of Monroe and College)
FRIDAY - First Christian Church, 1507 Glendale (across from Valplayso)
SATURDAY - Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 Washington St (corner of Washington and Chicago)
Churches are prevented by federal fire codes from hosting people overnight more than 30 nights per year. If, in the future, we have enough host sites and volunteers to offer shelter in the churches during the six warmer months, we will be happy to provide hospitality year-round.
